Dear Parents,
Whilst the school is closed, there will be a menu of free activities available for learners. The section below provides a list of some learning platforms that can be easily accessed via the internet.
During term time, there will be updates about online learning platforms, and there will be the expectation that children do daily reading and mathematics e.g. counting in 2s, 5s,10s.
You will be able to communicate with the Year 1 team in the usual way, via class dojo. Any problems or queries then please do communicate with your class teacher via class dojo messaging.

Spellings in Year 1
Each week the spellings are linked to the phonics learning scheme (Letters and Sounds) and the Year 1 National Curriculum spellings
Information for Parents/Carers
Reading: Children should be reading daily and recording this in their reading record books.
Spelling Bee: Children have a spelling bee on a Tuesday morning to check their spelling home learning.
PE: Lessons are be on a Friday afternoon; please ensure your child has the correct kit with them on this day. This includes: house colour top (blue, red, yellow, green), plain navy tracksuit bottoms or shorts and black plimsolls. Please ensure all uniform is named and labelled clearly. Please remind your child to bring in their PE kit on their PE day, and also to bring their kits home to be washed regularly.
Class Dojo: Class Dojo is a great way for children and parents to visually see the reward points they have earned throughout the week. Children start each day with 5 dojo points so there is a possible 25 dojo points per week. The children can earn extra points for outstanding work or contribution in and outside of school, but they can lose points due to poor choices. It is also a way for us to share the learning that is happening in our class for the week, as well as keeping you informed of any key dates and events. There is also a messaging section should you wish to contact the adults in class.
Should you have any concerns or like to meet to discuss your child's learning, please feel free to schedule a time to meet after school.
